Dear all, on November 22 our debut concert officially happened! Folk Group "Dolina" ("The Valley") was performing authentic folk pieces of the South of Russia (Belgorod region), as well as the traditional Cossack songs here, in the Silicon Valley! And it was a great success!
So much for the official part!
We are so amazed at how the universe sometimes unravels to make you a part of something bigger than what you anticipate.
You are just doing what you love, you meet people that you like, and sometimes they like you back, and then things begin to happen...
You meet simply the best Olga Kamova, a person of impeccable taste and many virtues, but above all a selfless sole and a great fighter. And thus comes up the idea of a Russian Folk Concert in the US.
You meet incredible Julia Voroninskaya, a gorgeous woman and a great singer, who kindly offers her mansion for the concert, and spends two nights making 300 pierogi for the guests - all by herself.
Indeed it was a great moment of great personalities turning into a unity for the sake of what we care about, and love, and share. Frankly speaking, being around these people makes one wanna be more ... just be more!
The atmosphere was amazing, the energy was streaming back from the audience right away - it was a grand and very inspiring experience for us. We could not ask for a better outcome!
We were thrilled to invite our friends from Seattle: a unique artistic and dedicated Russian folk singer, well known in the world of folklore ethnomusicologist Juliana Svetlichnaya, and her husband, a most loyal traditional instruments player Nikolay Grachev to perform with us.
We are happy to find such great friends here in the US, and already working on something that you may really like!
Keep following us on Facebook and here for the news and see you at our next performance!
